Twitter Expected To Provide Elon Musk With Spam Data as Part of Deal

The consequences of Elon Musk and Twitter‘s deal have been shaping up to be more difficult than expected. In order to move the deal forward, Twitter is now reportedly willing to comply with Musk’s demand for more data.

The Washington Post stated that Twitter has plans to give the tech billionaire full access to their internal data including its full “firehose” which featurs more than 500 million tweets posted each day. After weeks of impasse, Musk appears to get his way as the company hopes this will end a standoff with the billionaire. Sources have said that the information could be handed over as soon as this week. The data would include real-tie data of tweets, as well as the devices in which they tweet from.

Musk’s legal team has claimed that the data stream is key information for understanding how spam and bot activities continue to occur on the platform. Currently, the deal is still on hold until Musk secures further data to truly know the significant impact of how spam and bots would affect his ability to monetize Twitter.
