Twitter Blue, the social media platform’s $2.99 USD per month premium subscription service, has launched NFT profile pictures on iOS.
The feature allows users to connect to their crypto wallets and display their NFTs as their profile pictures. Other users can then tap on the profile picture to learn more about the project and view its metadata.

NFTs are displayed in a special hexagonal shape, indicating authenticity and proof of ownership. The feature is available for subscribers on iOS via its early access Labs feature.
Currently, Twitter only supports static image NFTs in either JPEG or PNG formats minted on the Ethereum blockchain. NFT profile pictures support several crypto wallets, including Argent, Coinbase Wallet, Ledger Live, MetaMask, Rainbow and Trust Wallet.
“Crypto is a key pillar of Twitter’s future,” Esther Crawford, Twitter’s product developer for the feature, told The Wall Street Journal.
Twitter Blue officially launched in November and is available in the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Features include ad-free articles, a bookmarks folder and an undo-tweet option.
In other news, Twitter Spaces will now let all hosts record audio.
