Twitch To Integrate TikTok-Like Clips

In a move to further refine its live streaming experience, Twitch has unveiled a new “Discovery Feed” feature that it says has been in development for years and is a direct response to community feedback.

This feature, which can best be compared to TikTok clips, will showcase a personalized mix of Clips in a scrollable feed on the Twitch app, with the goal of aiding streamers in reaching a wider audience, particularly when they are offline

“Because Twitch is all about live, interactive channels, it’s not our goal for viewers to spend hours in a Clips feed. Our investment in Clips is to help viewers discover your channel so they join you and your community when you stream,” shared Twitch in a blog post.

Additionally, Twitch is giving content creators more autonomy over their Clips. Starting in August, streamers can designate Clips as “featured” via their Creator Dashboard, which ensures that selected Clips get priority in discovery avenues, including the forthcoming Discovery Feed.

Before its official fall launch, Twitch plans to conduct trial runs with limited versions of the Discovery Feed, tweaking algorithms and optimizing the overall user experience.
