Troye Sivan has shared the new song “Trouble,” featuring Jay Som and produced by Styalz Fuego. It was recorded for Three Months, an upcoming coming-of-age film directed by Jared Frieder and starring Sivan, Ellen Burstyn, Viveik Kalra, and Brianne Tju. Check out the collaborative song below.
Three Months centers around Sivan’s character Caleb, a South Florida teenager who “loves his camera, his weed, and his grandmother,” and the shocking revelation that he was exposed to HIV on the eve of his high school graduation. “While he waits three months for his results, Caleb finds love in the most unlikely of places,” reads the movie’s official description. Three Months hits Paramount+ on February 23.
In 2020, Sivan released his In a Dream EP. Since then, he’s shared a new song called “Angel Baby,” starred in the “Easy” music video alongside Mark Ronson and Kacey Musgraves, and joined the cast of the Weeknd’s HBO series The Idol.
Jay Som’s last album, Anak Ko, came out in 2019. She’s since covered Soccer Mommy, dropped two standalone singles, and hopped on an orchestral remix of Anjimile’s song “In Your Eyes.” Jay Som also formed a new band with Chastity Belt’s Annie Truscott called Routine, and released a collaborative LP with Palehound’s Ellen Kempner under the joint moniker Bachelor.
