Travis Scott Stars In Harmony Korine-Directed Film, ‘Aggro Dr1ft’

Travis Scott Stars In Harmony Korine-Directed Film, 'Aggro Dr1ft'

After announcing his directorial debut alongside Harmony Korine on Circus Maximus earlier this week, Travis Scott and A24 have another film collaboration on the way – slated to hit the big screen at the 2023 Venice Film Festival. Entitled Aggro Dr1ft, the 80-minute film was directed by Korine and features Scott in the starring role.

Aggro Dr1ft will screen for competition under the Fiction category at the 80th annual festival, which kicks off on August 3 and runs until September 9. While a full cast list remains unannounced, the festival’s website notes Spanish actor and filmmaker Jordi Mollà as a main character alongside Scott.

The rapper’s Instagram story content has seen the likes of movie props such as body armor, guns and masks as well as photos of Korine himself. It’s unclear whether the rapper’s social content is from Aggro Dr1ft or from Circus Maximus – which is described as “a surreal and psychedelic journey.” Korine, whose previous works include Spring Breakers and Trash Humpers, directed Circus Maximus alongside Scott himself as well as Gaspar Noe, Valdimar Jóhannsson, Nicolas Winding Refn and Kahlil Joseph. Ahead of the film’s AMC-wide release this week, Scott shared the first trailer for Circus Maximus on his Instagram today.

When Scott first hinted at his collab with A24 in August of 2021, he posted a photo of a script entitled Utopia. With both his Utopia album and Circus Maximus dropping this Friday, July 28, it remains unclear whether Aggro Dr1ft will also tie into the LP in any way.
