Travis Scott was arrested during the early hours of Thursday morning in Miami, Florida on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing property after receiving a warning.
Miami-Dade police officers arrived at the Miami Beach Marina around 1 a.m. on Thursday morning in response to a call reporting a fight on a yacht.
Per an affidavit acquired by NBC, the rapper was standing on the vessel at the dock shouting at people. Officers could sense “a strong smell of alcohol coming from the defendant’s breath.”
While the complainant reportedly told police that he didn’t want to press charges, he did want the rapper off the yacht.
After officers threatened to arrest Scott, he complied and exited the dock – albeit “walking backward from the vessel to the boardwalk” while continuing to “yell obscenities to the occupants of the vessel.”
Just a few minutes later, however, Scott exited his vehicle and began to make his way back toward the boat, fully “disregarding officers commands to not [return.]”
His behavior grew “erratic,” the affidavit notes, once again beginning to yell and further “disturb the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby residential buildings causing a public disturbance.”
Scott was taken into custody at 1:17 a.m. and booked at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center – eventually admitting to having been drinking, telling officers “It’s Miami” – and has since posted his $650 USD bond.
