According to reports, Tracy Morgan is now set to join Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito for the sequel to 1988’s buddy comedy film, Twins. Titled Triplets, reports go on to note that filming is set to commence this January in Boston and Morgan will be playing the third and long lost sibling.
Speaking to Deadline, director Ivan Reitman said, “I’d been good friends with Tracy Morgan for a long time and always thought he was one of the funniest men in the world. I thought he would make a terrific triplet, and we rewrote the whole script for him. Now, we’ll go out and try and put the money together and get it made.”
The director also spoke about the plot of Triplets, “Secretly, there was a third baby born, a Black baby, who hasn’t been in touch with his siblings. They don’t know each other and very early in the movie they meet and it’s how they achieve a bond together after all these years.”
Following Twins, the upcoming sequel will once again center around family and getting over differences to work together. Produced and directed by Ivan Reitman, Twins was released December 1988 and introduced streetwise Vincent (Danny DeVito) and the intelligent but naive Julius (Arnold Schwarzenegger).
