Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.
Apparently, the player is valued at around €20-25 million and Arsenal are keen on signing him as well.
According to Footmercato, the Gunners are currently in talks to sign the technically gifted playmaker and they will face competition from their London rivals for the Frenchman now.
The report adds that the asking price will not be a problem for Tottenham as they believe that the 23-year-old has the capability to justify it over the next few seasons.
Aouar is highly rated in France and he has a big future ahead of him.
Spurs could certainly use a creative midfielder like him in their line-up and his skill-set will complement the likes of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Tanguy Ndombele perfectly. Aouar will add craft and flair at the middle of the park for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The Londoners need someone like him to break down the deep defences next season.
The likes of PSG and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the player as well and it remains to be seen where he ends up eventually.
Tottenham will probably have to put forward a lucrative offer to the player in order to convince him to move to the Premier League this summer.
The likes of Atletico and PSG will be able to offer him Champions League football and that could prove to be a major disadvantage for the London side in the transfer chase.
