As per tradition, the closing ceremony of 2024 Paris Olympics will include a ceremonial handoff to the next iteration of the summer games, which will take place in Los Angeles in 2028. And according to TMZ, those plans involve Tom Cruise and a death-defying stunt.
*Warning: Possible spoilers ahead* The plan, as TMZ describes it, is for Cruise to rappel down from the top of Stade de France, landing on the stadium field with the official Olympic flag in hand. The television broadcast will then cut to a pre-recorded segment in which Cruise is seen flying from France to Los Angeles, where he will skydive out of an airplane down to the Hollywood sign. He’ll then hand the Olympic flag to Olympians who will take it on a tour of Los Angeles.
Cruise is already in Paris, where he’s been been cheering on Team USA at various events.
Last month, Cruise celebrated his 62nd birthday. The action star is showing no signs of slowing down, however, as he’s moving ahead with Top Gun 3, and threatened to keep making Mission: Impossible movies until he’s 80.
