Tom Brady’s Final Game-Worn Jersey Is Auctioning for $1.5 Million USD

Tom Brady's Final Game-Worn Jersey Is Auctioning for $1.5 Million USD

A key piece of Tom Brady memorabilia from his illustrious NFL career is heading to Sotheby’s. In his 23 year football career, Brady has made a name for himself as one of the most successful quarterbacks to ever play the game. A seven-time Super Bowl champion, Brady officially retired earlier this year as the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards (89,214) and touchdown passes (649), ranking first all-time in Super Bowl MVPs (5).

As the most decorated player in NFL history, he has often been linked to his nickname as the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) In 2021, he won his final ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, proving that his success goes beyond his association with Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick. After the Super Bowl win, he stayed on the team for another two years, before retiring. In 2021, Brady led the league in passing and threw for a career-high 5,316 yards showing that at age 44 he was still setting records.

Brady’s final match was on January 16, 2023. The jersey for auction was worn as he entered Raymond James Stadium for his Monday Night Football NFC Wildcard Playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys. He donned the white home jersey illustrated with his signature and iconic #12, marking his final career match of his NFL career. Brahm Wachter, Head of Streetwear and Modern Collectables for Sotheby’s said in a statement, “There are only a few athletes who are universally accepted as the greatest in their sport. For the National Football League, it’s Tom Brady. Worn at the very last game of his tenured career, this historic item is a tangible reminder of Brady’s unparalleled legacy, and as such, is arguably the most coveted NFL jersey to ever come to auction. We’re delighted to partner with RM Sotheby’s in showcasing a jersey of unparalleled significance on the auction stage in Las Vegas.” The jersey is to be auctioned off in the same event as Lewis Hamilton’s first race-winning Mercedes-Benz F1 car. Brady’s final game-worn jersey is expected to auction between $1.5 million to $2.5 million USD. Take a look at the website for more information.
