Netflix on Tuesday announced that Tom Brady will be the first guest on its upcoming roast series, Greatest Roasts of All Time: GROAT. For those unacquainted with the renowned footballer, the streamer comically describes him as “Gisele Bündchen’s Husband,” “sixth-round NFL draft pick and avocado ice cream aficionado.”
Additionally, Brady will serve as executive producer on the series in a “multi-roast deal,” according to Netflix. His own roast is slated to tape in 2023, following the conclusion of his next NFL season.
“To quote my good friend, Marshawn Lynch … ‘I’m just here so I won’t get fined,’” said Brady in a statement.
Aside from Brady, additional producers on the series include Casey Patterson for Casey Patterson Entertainment, Jeff Ross and Carol Donovan.
“We can’t wait to burn three-time Super Bowl-losing quarterback Tom Brady, who only went back to the NFL in order to delay this roast,” said Robbie Praw, Netflix’s VP of stand-up and comedy formats. “In all seriousness, it’s a huge thrill to work with the greatest football player of all time on this project. No one’s better at taking hits and still coming out on top, so we know the roast will be a breeze for Brady.”
Further information and additional roasters will be unveiled at a later date.
