Tiger Woods is ready to make history at Augusta, Georgia with his attempt for a sixth Green jacket.
Woods, aged 46, was thought to be out of the majors after a scary car accident back in February 2021. Suffering a fractured tibia and fibula and a shattered ankle, many golf fans feared it was the end for the 15-time major champion in terms of competing.
The signs were all there last week as golfers commented on his game with, “ball speed, club head speed, it’s all there, it’s all back.” Woods also drew attention when he showed up to the Augusta Nationals wearing black FootJoys, sparking rumors that his long-time partnership with Nike was over — that has since been dispelled by Woods.
In a press conference, Woods appeared hopeful confirming his entry into the tournament as well as commenting, “I don’t show up to an event unless I think I can win it.” Golf fans can expect Tiger to play at 10:34 a.m. ET alongside Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann.
