Tiffany & Co. is following up on their first advent calendar with a new iteration that features Jean-Michel Basquiat‘s iconic Equals Pi painting. The seldom-seen artwork was recently spotted in an ad Tiffany’s ran with Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
For those unfamiliar, advent calendars are used to count down the days till Christmas — with each day unraveling a new gift. Standing at 4-feet tall, the calendar is slightly larger than last year’s iteration. The white oak cabinet is constructed in New York and opens to Basquiat’s artwork, which conceals 24 individually wrapped Tiffany Blue presents.
It’s not clear as to what the gifts will be, but going off the 2019 calendar, Tiffany’s included 18k Gold Triple Drop Earrings ($4,600 USD), a Sterling Silver Harmonica ($695 USD), and much more.
Each of the calendars is numbered and retail for $150,000 USD. The luxury jeweler will donate $250,000 USD from the proceeds to Free Arts NYC — a nonprofit organization that provides art and guidance to underserved communities. To purchase, please visit Tiffany’s website.
In case you missed it, the family of Jean-Michel Basquiat will exhibit over 200 rare artworks in 2022.
