TIDAL has officially announced that it will be raising its subscription prices this year.
The increase takes effect on August 1 and will see the prices of a basic HiFi subscription in the United States rise to $10.99 USD from $9.99 USD, and a family plan subscription rise to $16.99 USD from $14.99 USD. TIDAL’s premium HiFi Plus, which features Dolby Atmos Music, Sony 360 Audio and Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) tracks, as well as its free tier and discount prices for students and military will remain the same price as of writing.
A rep for the streamer did not explain the increase, however Billboard notes that the change in prices seem to be all but confirmed across the markets as users from Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary, Mexico and Argentina revealed the notice via a TIDAL subreddit.
Elsewhere in music, Turnstile manager James Vitalo spoke to Hypebeast about always being 10 steps ahead.
