The Weeknd Is Auctioning Off 25 “Out of Time” Vinyl Records Pressed on Real Saw Blades

The Weeknd Is Auctioning Off 25 “Out of Time” Vinyl Records Pressed on Real Saw Blades

The Weeknd has teamed up with art collective MSCHF to release his latest single, “Out of Time,” as a limited-edition vinyl record pressed into a real, functioning saw blade.

The unique Vinyl Blade, of which there will only be 25 copies, is currently up for blind auction on MSCHF’s website until April 8, with a starting bid at $1,000 USD. The record is “not rated or intended” for actual use on a table saw, according to the company.

“Attempting to use Vinyl Blade on a saw could result in serious injury or death,” the Dawn FM vocalist states in a disclaimer, adding the caution, ”Do not operate while heartbroken.”

“Vinyl Blade includes a turntable adaptor. Please note that the Vinyl Blade has sharp edges, is a non-standard diameter, and is significantly heavier than a standard vinyl record,” MSCHF said of the product. “All of these factors may affect playback on some turntables. Handle with care and only play at 33 RPM. Vinyl Blade’s grooves are copper-clad steel, which may wear your stylus down faster than a normal record.”

Earlier this week, The Weeknd dropped a Cliqua-directed music video for “Out of Time,” which features Squid Game alum HoYeon Jung and Jim Carrey. The track is the latest Dawn FM cut to receive a video, following “Take My Breath,” “Sacrifice” and “Gasoline.”

Elsewhere in music, Action Bronson has dropped a new track “SubZero” and announced his next album, Cocodrillo Turbo.
