Following the announcement of the new iPhone16 lineup, The Weeknd has announced a new single as a part of his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow. The project’s first single is titled “Dancing in the Flames,” and alongside the announcement The Weeknd drops a music video, entirely shot on the iPhone 16 Pro, directed by Anton Tammi and director of photographer Erik Henrikkson.
The music video’s behind-the-scenes clip was debuted during Apple’s It’s Glowtime event showing director Anton Tammi shoot the music video in 4K 120fps in Dolby Vision on the new iPhone. Henrikkson can be heard explaining, “Using iPhone 16 Pro is starting to erase the line between what’s considered a ‘professional camera’ and what’s not. And I think this is really really going to help young filmmakers coming up.” He added, “I was very impressed with how iPhone 16 was able to pick up the strong highlights, the deep blacks, because we were shooting with very bright HDMI backlights hitting the rain and that was something I was worried about. ‘How will the iPhone pick these lights up, how will the contrast be managed, how will this look on the Weeknd’s face?’ And when I saw the results, I was blown away to be honest.”
The new single and music video also come after The Weeknd announced the album as the third and final installment of his After Hours and Dawn FM trilogy. Watch the videos above and below.
