The UFC and Dapper Labs have joined forces within the metaverse, announcing the launch of its “UFC Strike” NFT collectibles platform.
MMA fans can rejoice and expect digital collectibles that feature dynamic video and audio from previous UFC matches, while affordable pricing allows for fair access and ownership. Sharing the news on its website, the Ultimate Fighting Championship reveals, “UFC Strike will start with a first round of 100,000 ‘Fully Loaded’ packs, consisting of three NFT Moments capturing incredible finishes and amazing displays of striking and grappling.”
“These NFT moments will include the best action shots from multiple camera angles, announcer commentary and crowd response from actual fights,” it adds. Pack-featured fights include appearances from Kamaru Usman, Francis Ngannou, Rose Namajunas and many others.
Further speaking on the collaboration, UFC Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Products Tracey Bleczinski says, “Dapper Labs is an innovator in this field, creating an industry that didn’t exist a few years ago.”
“Their vision for the potential of these products is the reason UFC chose Dapper Labs as its first NFT partner,” she added.
The new Web3 rollout will launch on January 23, following the UFC’s live “UFC 270” pay-per-view event, and comes on the heels of Dapper Labs’ earlier sports collaboration with the NBA’s “Top Shot” platform.
Each digital collectible will be minted on Dapper Labs’ “Flow” blockchain platform, and fans can enter to buy a chance at owning the packs via the UFC “Strike” website – while supplies last.
