Confirming constant talks of a rematch, UFC President Dana White has now announced Alex Pereira vs. Israel Adesanya 2. The rematch set for UFC 287 in Miami, Florida April 8 will see the long-standing rivals step into the Octagon once again with the UFC Middleweight Championship on the line in the main event fight.
The rematch will serve as Pereira’s first title defense after winning the title from Adesanya last November in a fifth-round comeback. The last meeting served as the third time the fighters have met in combat, as Pereira already held two wins over Adesanya in Professional Kickboxing. The co-main event will also see Jorge Masvidal make his return to the Welterweight division against Gilbert Burns after taking a year away from the sport of MMA.
White also shared an announcement for fights between Welterweights Kevin Holland and Santiago Ponzinibbio, Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Christian Rodriguez, and Rob Font against Adrian Yanez at UFC 287.
In case you missed it, Dana White introduced the rules of Power Slap.
