The Linda Lindas‘ debut album Growing Up‘s release is coming in a month and the Los Angeles-based band shared their latest single, “Talking to Myself,” on Wednesday.
The accompanying Ryan Baxley-directed video for “Talking to Myself” is shot in black and white, a playful tribute to the classic Twilight Zone episode “Living Doll.”

“The song is about the spiral you go into when you’re lonely,” Lucia de la Garza said in a statement. “You start to question yourself and all the decisions you’ve made. I’m always looking back on conversations and going “Oh, I should have said this, I should have said that”. But it’s also about needing other people, not just for reassurance, but because we’ve all learned from the pandemic that you need other people to talk to in order to stay sane.”
Last month, the group announced their debut album with a single and video for “Growing Up.”
The band will headline several sold-out shows in Los Angeles and New York this spring. Following, the group will take the stage at additional dates opening for Jawbreaker, along with festival performances in Oakland, Las Vegas, and Japan.
