The Lexus LM “Luxury Mover” Is a Private Jet-Meets-Penthouse on Wheels

Lexus has become synonymous with luxury, and now it doubles down on its first-class aesthetic with the all-new Lexus LM.

Standing for “Luxury Mover,” it’s almost rude to call this new automobile a minivan. Instead, think of it as a home-from-home, on wheels. It’s a first for Lexus, entering the chauffeur-driven passenger experience sector of the market that’s dominated by legendary marques such as Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, and Maybach, and in order to compete with the best Lexus has thrown everything it can at the new LM.

The focus of the car is so passenger-centric that even the press material supplied to Hypebeast leaves little room to talk about the exterior. But the outside is just as imposing as the inside, featuring a huge front grille and a swooping rear design.

As for that interior, customers can choose from a seven or four-seat layout, with the latter being positioned in line with flying first class. Per the brand, “the four-seat model takes Lexus Omotenashi hospitality to an even higher level, with large, airline-style seats that can be made fully horizontal.”

It was designed with all the mod-cons you might find at home or in the office, such as a 48-inch HD widescreen monitor, refrigerator and smartphone-style control of cabin environment, “one button” control of your personal preferences for seat settings, lighting and climate control, and a bespoke 23-speaker Mark Levinson 3D Surround Sound System. Elsewhere, technological advancements include thermal sensors that precisely control and direct heating and ventilation, seats counteract head-sway to keep you feeling level, and clever packaging makes for optimum headroom.

Active Noise Control cancels unwanted sounds inside the cabin, noise-reducing wheels and tyres add to the quiet experience, and for the four-seat version, you’ll also find a non-sound-absorbing five-layer headlining that increases the sound insulation by 40%.

Given it is a Lexus, the LM comes with a 2.5-liter self-charging hybrid engine, a whole suite of safety features, and plenty of driving aids to make your chauffeur’s life that bit easier.

In other news, the Maybach EQS SUV is finally here.
