“Downton Abbey: A New Era” hosted its world premiere at London’s Cineworld Leicester Square on 25 April, and the movie’s leading stars dressed in their finest 1920s-inspired gowns. It was easy to see how the ladies of “Downton Abbey” took inspiration from 1920s fashion for their red carpet outfits. The style of the 1920s is often defined by the sparkling, sheer gowns worn by flappers and partygoers in “The Great Gatsby”. For the “Downton Abbey: A New Era” world premiere, stars wore sparkling and sheer gowns in colours of champagne, gold, silver, gray, and black velvet. Expect lots of diamanté details, feathers, silk and satin fabrics, sumptuous black velvet, and oversize bow details. In addition to Haddock and Dockery, we also loved the multitextured Azzi & Osta gown worn by Elizabeth McGovern (who plays Cora Crawley).
