In celebration of Halloween this year, the team over at Call of Duty has brought back The Haunting event for both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, offering players a bit of festive fun.
Spearheading the celebrations will be two new models drawn from two of horror cinema’s most iconic characters: Ghostface from Scream and Frank the Rabbit from Donnie Darko. The former will be a standalone operator while the latter will be a skin for Baker. There’ll also be a Necro Queen skin for Portnova, a Disciple of Mayhem skin for Weaver, and a Lumens skin for Maxis.
Cosmetics aside, there’s also a whole range of changes to gameplay. A new LAPA SMG can be unlocked when you’ve completed all challenges, and Verdansk itself is getting a nighttime makeover with a Ghosts of Verdasnk game mode which turns players into haunting ghosts when they die instead of sending them to the Gulag. As ghosts, you won’t have access to weapons but you’ll be able to jump and teleport your way across the Warzone map while killing living players with your melee attacks.
Finally, there’ll also be several limited-time modes in regular multiplayer, including a zombie mode called Infected, a Halloween-themed Prop Hunt featuring jack-o-lanterns, skeletons and black cats, and Scream Deathmatch, where two players will hunt down unarmed survivors as Ghostface.
For the Call of Duty fans, the game’s The Haunting event will launch today and last through November 2. You can learn more over on its website.
Elsewhere in gaming, DC FanDome has offered fans a first look at the Court of Owls in Gotham Knights.
