The Divebombers Cape Town Tour 2023 - The Bradenton Times
The band will depart on May 23 for its three-week tour. The Divebombers are scheduled to perform in South Africa’s Johannesburg before a performance at the 2023 Bushfire Festival in Swaziland, Africa. Named the “Top African festival” by the BCC, Bushfire comes upon its 16th annual, having sold out the last eight years running.

Bushfire’s eclectic line-up features a mix of pan-African and international artists from diverse musical styles and genres. African music, traditional sounds, and cultural music styles from across the globe perform for enthusiastic audiences, including electro, Afropop, jazz, folk, rock, and house, among others. The festival’s various stages also host to a wide range of other artistic performances, including dance, art exhibitions and installations, theatre, poetry, storytelling, puppetry, and film. Bushfire attracts tens of thousands of art and music-loving festival-goers with participating artists from over 50 countries.

Following the band’s appearance at Bushfire, they are set to perform a final show in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Divebombers include George Worthmore on electric guitar, Nat Langston on acoustic guitar, and Chad Clifford playing acoustic bass. The band performs classic American music blending classic genres, including honky-tonk. Band leader and electric guitarist Worthmore is a New York Blues Hall of Fame and Suncoast Blues Challenge winner and a 2017 International Blues Challenge semifinalist.

Before leaving the sunny shores of Bradenton/Sarasota, the band will perform three back-to-back farewell shows. You can “see them off” the weekend of May 19 – May 21 at the following venues:

The farewell shows are free performances, so head out and enjoy some of that, “Toe tappin’ knee slappin’ foot-stompin’ good ol’ American music” while there’s still time!
