The Cure’s 2001 Acoustic Hits album will finally be available to stream

In 2001, when The Cure released their Greatest Hits album, the band also returned to the studio to record new acoustic versions of 18 of their songs. Now, those recordings will finally become available on streaming services for the first time.

Dubbed Acoustic Hits, the album will arrive on streaming platforms on August 9th, per posts the band made on social media In anticipation of the release, they shared black and white videos of unplugged studio performances of several tracks. The first was “A Forest,” followed by “The Lovecats,” and, just yesterday, “Close To Me.” Watch the videos below.

Other songs on Acoustic Hits include “Just Like Heaven,” “Boys Don’t Cry,” “Friday I’m in Love,” and more. Check out the original artwork and tracklist below. Acoustic Hits is also available to purchase on vinyl here.
