On the fourth and final night of the Democratic National Convention, the Chicks helped introduce nominee Joe Biden with a stirring performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Just a few weeks after the release of their long-awaited album Gaslighter, the Chicks did not sing an original tune, but instead showcased their sterling harmonies on the national anthem. Natalie Maines, Emily Strayer and Martie Maguire sounded pristine while remotely singing without any accompaniment.
Along with a Convention-capping address from former Vice President Biden, Sen. Cory Booker, Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Andrew Yang and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms were scheduled to speak on Thursday night (Aug. 20). John Legend and Common are also scheduled to perform.
Gaslighter debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart upon its release last month. Watch the Chicks play ‘How Well Do You Know Your Bandmates?’ below:
