Leah and Ash from House 2 on The Block were the only contestants to walk away empty-handed after a nail-biting finale of the season went to air last month. And now it’s been revealed the couple are still scrambling to try and sell the Hampton East home, with interest reportedly at an ‘all-time low’.
Despite Domain reporting last month that there were two verbal offers on the cards for the Art Deco home – including one for $3.1 million – an insider has revealed to Yahoo Lifestyle that Queenslanders Leah and Ash are still desperately trying to sell their home as it sits on the market with zero prospective buyers.
“The winners and the losers of The Block seem disproportionally out of whack when you look at Steph and Gian adding $1.7 million to their bank account while Leah and Ash still flounder around new ideas to sell their home,” our insider said.
“It is like the longer the house is still on the market the further away an ending is in sight. A Christmas miracle is needed at this stage if they want the house sold in 2023.”

They went on to say that ‘frustration has well and truly set in’ for the couple, who watched on at auction as two teams made over $1,000,000, Kyle and Leslie received $130,000, and Kristy and Brett made a profit of $65,000.
Our insider also claimed that there is concern a team from the upcoming 2024 season of the show may sell their home before House 2 is even taken off the market.
“The fact that someone who isn’t even cast in the next series set to be filmed in Phillip Island could beat them to the finish line is pretty concerning,” the source said.
Leah and Ash have reportedly even organised for new photographs to be taken of the home, posting a series of new snaps to their social media account of the colourful living and dining area.
Kristy Beames from House 3 commented on Instagram last week saying: “Finally photos that does that wall justice” alongside three love hearts.
30 photos showcasing the interior and exterior of the house are currently listed on Domain, where it’s described as “high on quality, big on space, & ready to adapt to today’s changing family lifestyles with an unparalleled up to 5 bedroom, 4 bathroom, multi-living accommodation”.
It’s believed Leah and Ash aren’t letting the lack of current interest in the home they lovingly renovated faze them.
Last year’s contestants Dylan and Jenny’s home in the Macedon Ranges was passed in at auction and sold nearly three months later for $3.9 million. However, that was $180,000 less than its original reserve price.
