Just a day after her Coachella set, Tems has officially announced that she’ll be putting out her debut album, Born In the Wild. The news was announced by the singer in the form of a cinematic trailer set in her hometown of Lagos, Nigeria.
A full-length album is seemingly long overdue for Tems, given it’s been four years (and more than a few accolades, including a Grammy) since she landed her breakout feature on Wizkid’s “Essence.” During her Coachella set on Sunday, the performance also saw Justin Bieber and Wizkid join her onstage.
Tems has already put out two EPs, 2020’s For Broken Ears and 2021’s If Orange Was a Place.
Born In the Wild will have a relatively quick album rollout, scheduled to release sometime in May – though an exact day wasn’t revealed. It’ll mark Tems’ first full-length release via Since ‘9 and RCA Records.
Stay tuned for more updates on Tems’ forthcoming debut album Born In the Wild.
