Telly Launches “Free” Dual-Screen Smart TV in 4K

Telly Launches "Free" Dual-Screen Smart TV in 4K

In 2014, Pluto TV launched as a free, ad-supported streaming platform. Now, this concept has been applied to hardware with Pluto TV co-founder Ilya Pozin’s new company Telly. The idea is simple, offer a television in exchange for data and ads. However, its execution is rather nuanced.

For Telly’s customers, a dual-screen smart TV equipped with a 55” 4K display comes with a Google TV dongle and is offered for “free.” Reservation sign-ups ask for a name, email and phone number while the device itself will harvest data to create highly-targeted ads relevant to the user, often on display courtesy of the television’s lower “Smart Screen.” Additional specifications include a sound bar featuring five-driver immersive sound, video calling functionality, a game room feature, “Hey Telly” voice assistance and more.

Stay tuned for more news regarding this unique offering as Telly aims to ship hundreds of thousands of units this year. Visit the brand’s website to sign-up for a TV reservation today.
