After gracing the Governor’s Ball stage over the weekend, Teezo Touchdown has rolled out his next cinematic visual. For “Third Coast” – a fan-favorite cut lifted from the rapper’s deluxe iteration of his debut, How Do You Sleep At Night? With You – Teezo taps into nostalgic early-aughts visual effects.
The retro video, which features antiquated aesthetics and camp-y green-screen effects, actually materialized as a project for a film student, the multifaceted musician recollected in an Instagram caption.
“What started out as a school project for film major student Rhiannon has now become the official music video for ‘Third Coast.’ You never know who sees your art, so I encourage you to share it with the world and watch what happens,” he wrote.
One of the standout clips sees Teezo dancing in front of an old advertisement background – with the top reading “Only 4 payments of $295.99 annually” and the below captioning still reading “Lorem Ipsum…”
In another, as he raps about his “ice, ice, ice,” he posts up in front of an ice-cube-filled green-screen background.
Teezo’s array of outfits (and dance moves) in the video also reflect the refreshingly ironic retro vibe, yet he closes out in his typical loosened-up tuxedo and tie, floral bouquet in hand.
“Third Coast” arrives as the third visual from Teezo’s acclaimed How Do You Sleep At Night?, joining “Familiarity” and “Impossible.” Stream the video in the gallery above.
