Taylor Swift Spotted Sliding Into Recording Studio: Is New Music Coming?
This isn’t her first time at Electric Lady Studios in recent months, either.

Taylor Swift was spotted walking into the famed Electric Lady Studios in New York City Tuesday evening, adding fuel to the ever-roaring speculation around potential forthcoming new music—or, given her re-recording project of her earlier work, new old music—from the artist.

The 34-year-old wore a green sweater dress and tan Stella McCartney overcoat with tall black boots for her visit to the legendary recording space, which has been used by artists such as Jimi Hendrix (who commissioned the studio in 1968), the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Patti Smith, U2, and more. Swift herself recorded her albums Lover, Folklore, and Midnights in the space, as well as her re-recordings Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and 1989 (Taylor’s Version). This isn’t her first pop-in to the studio in recent months, either: She paid a visit in September 2023, and in December just days before spending Christmas and New Year’s in Kansas City with boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Only two of Swift’s earlier albums have yet to be re-released as “Taylor’s Version”: her self-titled 2006 debut and 2017’s Reputation, her final studio album with former label Big Machine and now-nemesis Scooter Braun. Release plans for either album remain unknown, though you can trust the online fan community to have some incredibly compelling and yarn wall-worthy theories, complete with graduate-level numerology work. Wade into that corner of TikTok and reddit at your own risk, but then be prepared to find yourself wild-eyed and gesturing wildly with your hands explaining the “112 days theory” to your concerned loved ones. Could it be that she’s putting the finishing touches on a new Taylor’s Version release? (Even wardrobe choices are taken into account in Swift fan divination: Some think that her shimmering green dress moment paired with bestie Keleigh Sperry’s aqua blue at Sunday’s Golden Globes signal that a return to her sea-toned debut era is imminent, while others point out the recent wave of costumes and ‘fits in darker directions, pointing to a Reputation reboot.)

Or maybe it’s something entirely different: Could her recent star-spangled sartorial choices mean that a new album, possibly called Sagittarius after Swift’s own zodiac sign, is written in the stars? After all, that moon-and-stars birthday minidress following the constellation-emblazoned handbag at pal Emma Stone’s Poor Things premiere days before can’t be a coincidence, can it? Maybe it could, or maybe it’s all connected. In the Taylor Swift extended universe, anything’s possible.

A representative for Taylor Swift did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
