Taylor Swift has been keeping a secret from her fans, at least up until last night. The singer has a new album coming out entitled The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift shared the news while onstage, accepting a Grammy for Best Pop Album, awarded to her latest LP Midnights, which was released in October 2022. The award marks the singer’s 13th overall Grammy.
“I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the past two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19,” Swift said.
After making the announcement, Swift posted the LP’s cover art to social media, a black and white photo of her lying in bed.

Alongside the album art was a photo of lyrics written in her handwriting: “And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch black ink / All’s fair in love and poetry.”
