Taylor Swift Announces ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version) Album Launch

Taylor Swift Announces '1989 (Taylor's Version) Album Launch

Swifties, have we got news for you — Taylor Swift has announced that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will be dropping on October 27, 2023.

1989 was originally released in 2014, and featured hit songs such as “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Style” and “Wildest Dreams.” Now, the full album is being re-recorded to Swift’s standards and likings, following on from her takes on other albums including Fearless (Taylor’s Version)Red (Taylor’s Version) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

Swift is re-recording her old work because of a mix-up with Scooter Braun. When she left Big Machine Records in 2018, it went on to sell itself to Braun in 2019, who subsequently now owned the master recordings for Swift’s music. By redoing her songs, Swift will own these tracks — and having grown as an artist, she has full creative freedom to tweak them as she sees fit.

It also means that she can adapt the albums, which she has done on 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Taking to Instagram, the artist said: “The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!”

You can pre-order 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on her website.

In other news, here are the best European festivals that you cannot miss this summer.
