The Pretty Reckless‘ Taylor Momsen honored the memory of Chris Cornell with her high-octane cover of “Loud Love” on Sunday (Nov. 8).
Momsen taped her cover of Soundgarden‘s 1989 single back in September for Octane’s Home Invasion Festival, a four-day virtual festival on SiriusXM’s Octane channel. She previously told SiriusXM in an interview this summer about opening for her childhood idol and his band the night Cornell died in his Detroit hotel room on May 18, 2017.
“That night, it was the last show of the tour, so I kind of stood outside, just wanted to say thanks and goodbye. And it was a brief sweet moment,” Momsen recalled back in July. “And we stayed in the parking lot, hanging out after. And he left…. And the next morning, [I] woke up to the most tragic news ever. And it hit me like a ton of bricks…. I had never felt anything like that before.”
