Tally Health Review

Tally Health’s biological test measures DNA methylation, a chemical modification of DNA that can alter gene expression and influence the production of protein in cells that are essential for  functioning. The brand claims that DNA methylation patterns change with age and directly correlate with one’s personal lifestyle habits, including diet, exercise, sleep quality and alcohol consumption. Research shows that genetic factors account for roughly 25% of how we age while lifestyle factors serve as a stronger determinant.

Tally Health suggests its DNA methylation data set can be used to predict a person’s biological age. The data set includes age ranges 18 to 100, a 50/50 gender split and is over 30% non-white, according to the company.

Generally, Tally Health’s overall system is designed to motivate customers to make wiser lifestyle choices that may promote a longer, healthier life.

The TallyAge test requires customers to take a cheek swab of personal DNA and send it to the company’s lab for testing. The company advises users not to eat or drink at least 30 minutes before taking the test. Once complete, users can simply seal and ship the test to the lab and await their results.

Upon receipt of the test results, users can take Tally Health’s lifestyle survey to gain advice on what lifestyle modifications they should prioritize based on their DNA test and survey results. Tally’s healthy lifestyle recommendations align with what the company believes are keys to healthy aging, such as exercise, better sleep quality, healthy eating and limited alcohol consumption.

Tally Health also provides its daily vitality blend supplement to those who elect to subscribe for a monthly membership plan. The company claims that this supplement can enhance essential functions for cellular energy and repair, which in turn “promotes peak epigenetic function.” The formula includes ingredients with potential anti-aging properties, including alpha-ketoglutarate, quercetin and resveratrol.

Tally Health’s online portal provides customers with direct access to their TallyAge, the biological age determined by their DNA test.
