Following a closer look courtesy of ACRONYM founder Errolson Hugh, Nothing has now officially unveiled the Ear (stick), Carl Pei’s consumer electronic company’s third offering. Having sold 600,000 units of its inaugural Ear (1), the new Ear (stick) arrives as a sweetener to the brand’s portfolio featuring a unique lipstick-like carrying case. Like with all of Nothing’s products, the upcoming earbuds look to bring joy to everyday life with a fashion-led approach and cosmetics-inspired design.
New details from Nothing reveal that the Ear (stick) weighs just 4.4 grams. In comparison, Apple‘s Airpods Pro weighs in at 5.3 grams. The budless design has reportedly been tested “on over 100 pairs of ears for enhanced comfort” with the transparent stem design and LED sign-style branding remaining unchanged from the debut model. Housing the buds is a red-tipped cylindrical case designed to fit easily in pockets, featuring a twist-to-open design with magnetic molds similar to the Ear (1). The Ear (stick) is expected to be the most affordable option in Nothing’s lineup and Carl Pei recently announced that the Ear (1) will be increasing its price to $149 due to an increase in costs.
“Ear (stick) balances supreme comfort with exceptional sound, made not to be felt when in use. They’re feather-light with an ergonomic design that’s molded to your ears. Delivered in a unique charging case, inspired by classic cosmetic silhouettes, and compactly formed to simply glide into pockets,” Nothing says in an official statement.
More details will be available at the live reveal event October 26 at 10 a.m. EDT.
