The immersive visuals guide us through a journey of miniature rooms and environments to the inimitable sounds of Zedd. In his announcement, the Grammy-winning artist explained that initially he was using one particular synth to soundtrack the clip, but upon seeing the finished product, he returned to square one to switch things up. The final result is a melody that morphs with the visual environments, appropriately framing the mood and tone of each scene. At the tail end of the journey, the camera takes us into one of th...

Virtual Riot Shares Updated Version of Still-Unreleased Remix of Zedd and Kesha’s “True Colors”

Call him a perfectionist. Every Virtual Riot tune certainly expresses that the bass music producer works even the tiniest details into perfection, so it should come as no surprise that his tunes may take a while to finish. In fact, Virtual Riot has been working on a remix of a Zedd track for five years. The virtuosic producer shared the latest iteration of his work-in-progress remix of Zedd and Kesha‘s “True Colors” via Twitter yesterday, writing, “this is the one you need to hear, this is what we’re going for now.” Tagged as “future bass” on SoundCloud, the remix undoubtedly embodies the sound. With production elements that could only come from Virtual Riot, his take on “True Colors” seems geared for 2021 or even beyond...

Zedd Teases Collaboration With Virtual Riot

Have you ever wondered what a collaboration between Zedd and Virtual Riot might sound like? Same here. Earlier today, we reported on a new remix—produced and shared by Virtual Riot—of Zedd and Kesha‘s “True Colors,” which appeared as the titular track of the former’s sophomore studio album in 2015. Virtual Riot, one of bass music’s most technically gifted sound designers, has been working on the still-unreleased remix for over five years. However, it seems that he and Zedd have more in the works. When a fan tagged both producers in a tweet questioning why they haven’t worked together, Zedd chimed in with a succinct yet far from cryptic confirmation. “Oh but we have,” he wrote, followed by a smirking emoji. What followed was a barrage of tweet...

Zedd Curates Exclusive DJ Mix of Apple Music’s Biggest Songs of 2020

There is perhaps no EDM artist more ideal than Zedd, one of the genre’s true hit-makers, to curate a list of Apple Music‘s biggest songs of 2020. Zedd has teamed up with the streaming giant for an exclusive DJ mix that covers not only the most popular songs in dance music from this year, but also the contemporary music scene at large. However, dance music is of course well-represented with selections such as “Breaking Me” by Topic and...
