Yungblud has unveiled his third single of 2022, “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today,” alongside a fan-featuring video filmed on London’s Southbank last week (June 20). SPIN‘s April cover star invited willing fans to make a splash in the clip (see NME‘s report about what went down). Before police put a stop to it, fans were drenched with water pistols while Yungblud performed “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today” on a flatbed truck. The near-riot was eventually shut down for what police deemed overcrowding. [embedded content][embedded content] “My manager asked me, ‘What can we do, that no one else does?’” Yungblud says of the video in a statement. “And the concept came to us. All over the world I meet my fans in the streets, to feel a connection … Put it this way — the fucking police al...

Mick Jagger, a fan of Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud? You better believe it. In a new interview with radio station P4 (via The Independent), the Rolling Stones singer praised the two artists who have become firebrands. “You have Yungblud and Machine Gun Kelly. That kind of post-punk vibe makes me think there is still a bit of life in rock and roll.” Continuing, the rocker said that “in rock music you need energy and there have not been a lot of new rock singers around. Now there are a few.” Bet you didn’t have that on your 2022 Bingo card, eh? As for Stones news, Jagger said don’t expect the band to throw in the towel any time soon. The band will embark on their 60th anniversary European Tour that kicks off on June 1 in Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium (home of Atlético Madrid) “I am ...
Yungblud has shared a new single and electrifying accompanying video for “The Funeral.” The video kicks off with Sharon Osbourne in the frame, laying in a coffin decked out in opulent jewelry, as Ozzy Osbourne stands at her side. Next, the video quickly cuts to a fast-paced montage of shots including high-energy live performances, rowdy crowds, and fast cars. [embedded content][embedded content] The video comes after the artist had posted on social media teasing the track’s release for the past few days. British rocker YUNGBLUD teamed up with Spotify to release two new singles. The first is an intimate and soulful stripped-down version of his Bowie-referencing single, “mars.” “I decided to strip ‘mars’ back, just me and the piano. It’s something that this song deserves, to exist in its purest form so the emotion can just radiate. I have owed my fan base a version like this for a long time,” he said in a statement The second single is a playful rendition of Madonna’s iconic “Like a Virgin” to be “completely out of the box.” He tells, “Madonna is a massive idol of mine, I admire every move she artistically made. I wanted to take the classic, add some YUNGBLUD energy and shake it the fuck up! This is a song I heard growing up, my mum and my sisters used to play it all the time so that ad...
Dominic Harrison may be known as YUNGBLUD, but YUNGBLUD isn’t Dominic Harrison. For him, YUNGBLUD is more than just his identity. “YUNGBLUD is whatever you want it to be,” he tells SPIN over Zoom. That attitude, and his accessibility on social media, make the 23-year-old pop-punk star one of Gen Z’s most relatable artists, which is reflected on his new album, Weird! – dropping Friday, Dec. 4. His challenges compare to many other young adults in the COVID age: heartbreak, depression and attempting to accept yourself in a world full of people who don’t accept you. He tackled these topics — and other social issues like sexual abuse and gun violence — on his debut album, 2018’s 21st Century Liability, and his 2019 EP, The Underrated Youth. “This record [Weird! is about] getting through whateve...
