Per Fox 13 Memphis, law enforcement confirmed that Dolph, born Adolph Robert Thornton, Jr., was the victim of a shooting that occurred at the Makeda’s Butter Cookies shop in Memphis. Young Dolph, Prolific Memphis Rapper, Dies at 36

Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., professionally known as Young Dolph died in Memphis, Tennessee after being shot, three independent law enforcement services confirmed to FOX13. The shooting occurred at Makeda’s Butter Cookies, and its owner, Maurice Hill, told FOX13 his employees said Young Dolph walked in to purchase cookies.
