It’s fair to say that fashion, from its hemlines and silhouettes to its colourways and cuts, is an ever-changing entity. Case in point: This season, after the midi skirt’s long-held reign, the miniskirt made its storming return to the runways of London, Milan, Paris and New York. Riding on the back of the noughties resurgence, floor-skimming hemlines were replaced with thigh-grazing minis in a variety of guises. Some call it fickle, but I like to think of it as keeping things fresh. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a dating should be. I probably won’t be the first millennial to say this, but whenever I look on TikTok, I feel old. And as someone who is still in their 20s (okay, only just), I’m not sure I’m okay with it. But I suppose it’s just part and parcel of a new generation taking to new platforms to express their individuality and, most importantly, assert their point of difference from the previous generation. From a fashion-editor perspective, I have also been impressed by the sheer number of trends that have come out of TikTok, from dark academia to cottagecore. It’s essentially the new way subcultures are forming in the digital era. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. So we reimagined what a d...
People have many different opinions when it comes to style, but here’s one of the universal truths: Everyone wants their outfits to look expensive. Shopping for frugal items is one thing, but actually looking like you’re wearing something cheap is another, which is why you may have noticed that I talk about deceptively inexpensive basics ad nauseam. Going for minimalist separates is a tried-and-true approach to achieving this goal, but I found another one, courtesy of my feed—faux leather. Of course, it’s a given that genuine leather can instantly level up any outfit, but its faux sibling has come a long way since its stiff, plasticky-looking days. The real thing can be pricey, but with so many high-quality faux-leather and vegan-leather optio...
As someone who wears blazers almost every day (at least, the days I venture outside of the house), I’m so glad wool blazers for women exist. As we all know, wool is one of the toastiest fibres out there, and selecting a wool blazer means I can continue to wear them even on the coldest of days without feeling a chill. Don’t get me wrong; I still have a puffer coat and a camel robe coat which I can don when I need more coverage and insulation. However, more often than not, a wool blazer is the outerwear I reach for most days because it has the power to make even the most casual of outfits feel more polished. I tend to wear my wool blazer mostly with jeans and a cable knit jumper, but as Karina Marriott and Jessica Skye prove, it looks just as sleek with midi skirts. You Deserve to ...
To create cute winter outfits; that’s the goal, isn’t it? We all want to navigate the season stylishly, but we think we’re also in agreement when we say that we don’t want to risk getting a cold in the process. So, chic and cosy outfits are what we’re collectively striving to acheive. The thing is, assembling them isn’t always easy, especially if you’ve already got a winter outfit formula you rely on. However, if you’re looking for some fresh ideas to get you started, you’ve come to the right place. Below we’ve assembled a wide array of looks that tick the cute winter outfit box. Courtesy of a handful of our favourite influencers, these outfits not only come with the fashionable seal of approval, but those on our te...
As a fashion editor, I’m used to being asked what to wear to specific occasions or at different times of the year by friends and family. What should I wear to a wedding at a registry office? What do I pack for a city break? What shoes should I bring for a weekend in the country with my boyfriend’s parents? These are all questions my inner circle has presented me with over the past couple of months, and I’m always happy to oblige and talk shop. And the sartorial dilemma I know they’ll be asking me about next? Winter. Getting dressed in winter isn’t easy—it takes a lot of practice to get your outfits just right. Some people love layering, while others prefer to hone their looks to a couple of key pieces, and it can take a while to work out which category you fall into. This m...
In the summer months, I rarely buy new shoes. I tend to flit between two pairs of sandals—one black, one tan—and that generally sees me through. Winter, however, is where I make up for lost time. With unpredictable weather practically guaranteed, winter generally calls for more seasonally appropriate footwear options to see you through everything from impromptu showers to full-on snow days. Throw party season in the mix, and it would appear you need everything, from any-terrain boots to sparkly heels, to meet winter’s shoe requirements. Of course, you might have enough pairs in your existing collection to get you through, but there are a few key winter shoe trends updates you should at least be aware of for 2021. You don’t need to be a psychic to know there are plenty...
Love it or loathe it, there’s no avoiding the fact that the noughties are making a comeback this season, with all your favourite throwback looks (oh hello, low-slung jeans and butterfly motifs) cropping up on the runway. As a millennial, I have mixed feelings about this new nostalgia, but I have also enjoyed how fashion brands have adapted the trends to feel more contemporary. Case in point: Off-the-shoulder jumpers are a look I strongly associate with my teens (and not in a good way). However, if you look at interpretations from brands such as Tom Ford and Altuzurra, I can’t deny that they look pretty damn chic. You Deserve to Make Money Even When you are looking for Dates Online. The high street is always the first place I turn when I’m in need of a fashionable fix, but that doesn’t mean their appeal is fleeting. In fact, some of my favourite pieces that I pull out year after year come from the high-street, and this year, with some of the strongest winter collections I’ve seen, I decided to handpick items that I believe have staying power, but that will also bring your look up-to-date. I’ve whittled down what I consider to be the three must-see pieces from some of the high street’s biggest brands, which should hopefully give you an idea of each’s overarching aesthetic for the season ahead. From staples with a hint of trendiness to them to items that tap into the year’s biggest moments, continue on to see and shop the high-street winter fashion that’s real...
We’re not sure how, but Zara has managed to become akin to a social media app for us. We now incorporate it into our morning (and evening) checks, looking at the new-in section much like we would Instagram. Instead of liking pictures, we hit that wish-list button a way of interacting with the high-street hero. And it’s becoming a regular occurrence now more than ever since the winter drop has landed in all its glory. The new collection is so damn good—and when we say good, we mean it’s far too amazing for us not to share with you. Seeing as we’ve spent hours trawling through page after page of Zara newness, it’ll make us feel better knowing the hours were well spent. Want a spoiler of what to expect before you peruse our careful...
One of the questions I’m most frequently asked is, “Do I need to spend more money on my basics?” The answer, in my opinion, is no. While the saying “you get what you pay for” absolutely applies in some instances, this isn’t the rule of thumb for every single possible item. I love the high street—many of my most-worn finds hail from it. So I firmly believe that, yes, you can find excellent winter basics under £100. You just need to know where to look for the best ones. Not only do I believe it, but I also have proof! Scroll on to see 27 winter basics under £100 I really rate. They’re not all pared back and minimal—there is a dash of colour and print in my edit—but they’re pieces I know you’ll love and wear year in, year out.
