In an interview with Football Insider, Kevin Phillips has fancied West Ham United to land the signature of Nathaniel Clyne on a free transfer, once his contract with Liverpool expires during the summer. The right-back has been with the Reds since the summer of 2015 but he has barely featured for the first-team in recent years due to long-term injury setbacks and the emergence of Trent Alexander-Arnold. The 29-year-old has played no part for the Reds this term after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament in pre-season but he could make his injury comeback when the campaign resumes after the coronavirus shutdown. His current deal could be extended for a couple of months beyond June 2020 due to the delayed end to the season but it appears likely that he could become a free-agent thereafter. ...
West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen has named Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson on Twitter as the best defender he has played against. Bowen, who can operate as a winger, midfielder or forward, made the comment about the 26-year-old Scotland international left-back during a Q&A session on West Ham’s official Twitter page. While many would have expected a different Liverpool player to be named by the former Hull City star – Virgil van Dijk – the 23-year-old has actually named Robertson. Andy Robertson https://t.co/8UQmjmr83E — West Ham United (@🏠) (@WestHam) May 21, 2020 Stats According to WhoScored, Robertson has made 27 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Liverpool so far this season, scoring one goal and providing seven assists in the process. According to The Express, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to let Nathaniel Clyne leave this summer, with West Ham United and Crystal Palace interested in the defender. Clyne is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of next month, and manager Klopp is reportedly ready to let him leave on a free transfer instead of offering him a new deal. The report has added that London clubs Palace and West Ham are interested in securing the services of the 29-year-old right-back, who earns £90,000 per week as salary. Disappointing Liverpool spell Clyne has been at Liverpool since 2015, but the former Southampton star has failed to make a massive impact at Anfield. There have been injury issues, and when the right-back has played, he has not been exactly great. The 29-year-old former Palace righ...
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are hoping to beat several English Premier League sides to the signature of West Bromwich Albion striker Rayhaan Tulloch this summer as manager Steven Gerrard looks to stop Celtic’s 10-in-a-row bid. West Ham United and Brighton are very much keen on the 19-year-old after he forced his way into manager Slaven Bilic’s plans this term, and the Baggies are looking to convince him to sign a deal as he is out of contract next month. Liverpool were one of the clubs linked with an interest in Tulloch last summer, but the speedy striker could be lining up for their former skipper at Ibrox if Rangers play their cards well. West Ham know the teenager well having watched him first hand during their FA Cup clash against Bilic’s side in January, and it appears he d...
West Ham are thought to be looking at alternatives to David Moyes this summer. Moyes hasn’t done too well at West Ham so far and the Hammers looking at other managerial options is hardly a surprise. The West Ham boss has failed to deliver for years now. His last good managerial spell was at Everton. Moyes is clearly looking out of his depth in the Premier League now. It will be interesting to see if the Hammers bring in someone else once this season is done and dusted. As per reports (via Sportwitness), the Londoners are keen on Ivan Juric. The 44-year-old Croatian has done well with Hellas Verona and David Sullivan has been impressed with his coaching. The Italian outfit will not want to lose their manager in the summer but West Ham have the finances to tempt him. If they can convince Jur...
West Ham starlet Veron Parkes has turned down the chance to sign a professional contract with the club and Celtic are looking to snap him up this summer. As per Football Insider, Monaco, NY Red Bulls and other clubs are keeping tabs on the player as well. Parkes will be available for a very reasonable compensation this summer and it will be interesting to see if Celtic can secure his services. The 18-year-old forward is highly rated at the Premier League club and they will not want to lose him just yet. However, the player wants first-team football and West Ham might not be able to fulfill his demands. On the other hand, Celtic could provide him with some first-team opportunities in Scotland. The Scottish giants can include him in their cup games and allow him some minutes in the league as...
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Arsenal have joined the race to sign Serhou Guirassy in the summer transfer window. The Gunners have joined fellow London rivals Chelsea, Tottenham, and West Ham in the race to sign the striker. Guirassy plays for Amiens who are relegated following the abrupt end to the Ligue 1 season. The 24-year-old has impressed for the French club in 2019-20, scoring nine goals in 23 Ligue 1 games. The striker is now expected to leave the club in the next transfer window, and four major London clubs are vying for his signature. Earlier this month, Le 10 Sport claimed that Spurs have made an enquiry about signing the striker. London rivals West Ham are also in the hunt to sign the forward who could cost in the region of €15 million (£13.2 million)...
According to reports from Spanish publication AS, three Premier League clubs are showing keen interest in signing Guillermo Maripan. The report claims that Tottenham, West Ham and Watford are keen to sign the 26-year-old Monaco centre-half in the next transfer window. The Chilean international joined Monaco from Alaves for a fee of €18 million in the summer of 2019 and has done well in Ligue 1. Maripan has managed 20 league starts in the campaign and has scored two goals. He is one of the fastest central defenders in the league and has a very good (88%) passing rate. Monaco value Maripan at 40-50 million Euros, but his price range has dropped significantly due to the Coronavirus pandemic. It has been claimed that he would be available in the region of 30 million Eu...
West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere has called out The Sun newspaper following their claim that he is worth £18 million. The former Arsenal star made Sunday Times Young Sport Rich List alongside former teammate and Watford striker Danny Welbeck, with both tied in 15th on the list of sports stars aged 30 or under. The Sun dubbed the West Ham man and Welbeck “crocks of gold as it seems they have simply got money for nothing” due to their injury records, claiming “at least the pair will be able to afford the medical bills”, and Wilshere was having none of it, going on Twitter to call out the journalist that wrote the article. Now i have seen some bad journalism in my time, and rude. But what @GraddersOnline put in the Sun this week is not only both of them, but with what happened wi...
West Ham are keen on signing the Napoli forward Hirving Lozano this summer. The Mexican hasn’t been at his best since moving to Italy and he has been linked with a move away from the club. As per Area Napoli, the Hammers want to bring in a forward and Lozano has been identified as a target. The 39-cap Mexican international can play anywhere across the front three and he could prove to be a very handy option for Moyes. Lozano will add pace, flair and goals to the Hammers’ attack. The Mexican has proven himself in PSV and for his country. If he can regain his confidence, he could transform West Ham next season. Napoli are unlikely to demand a lot for the player given his situation at the club. Lozano has not lived up to the expectations and he is not a key member of the starting lineup eithe...
Leeds United remain interested in signing the Freiburg defender Robin Koch. As per Record (via Sportwitness), West Ham and Spurs are keen on the player as well. Benfica were thought to be keen on the player but they have backed out due to financial reasons. It will be interesting to see if Leeds can sign Koch this summer. The 23-year-old could prove to be a solid addition to Bielsa’ back four. Leeds will need better defenders if they are in the Premier League next season. Also, if they fail to sign Ben White permanently, they will need someone to fill his void. Koch is talented and Bielsa could develop him into a star. The young defender needs to join a club where he can play regularly and develop as a player. A move to Leeds seems ideal at this stage of his career. He might struggle to ho...
West Ham United right-back Pablo Zabaleta took to Twitter to answer questions from fans this afternoon, and he has revealed that he is already doing his coaching badges as he plans for life after retiring. The 35-year-old has a few months left on his contract at the London Stadium and is expected to leave at the end of the season. Zabaleta has spent 18 seasons as a professional football, with 12 of them in the English top-flight, and is edging closer to hanging his boots. A fan suggested that the Hammers defender would make a fine manager, and he replied thus: Yes I’m doing my coaching badges https://t.co/jm02dzcRFQ — West Ham United (@🏠) (@WestHam) May 12, 2020 The former Manchester City star also revealed that Michail Antonio is the hardest West Ham player to defend against in tr...
