Report: Villa plotting move for 23y/o as Hammers put their interest on hold

According to The Sun, Aston Villa are looking to make a move for Brentford left-back Rico Henry as manager Dean Smith is keen to further strengthen his squad this summer. The 23-year-old helped the Bees to the final of the Championship play-offs last season and is attracting interests from top-flight clubs. West Ham United have also been linked with Henry as boss David Moyes wants an upgrade on Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku, but they have had to put their interest on hold as they now prioritise signing a new centre-back. The Hammers are skint and Villa could use that as an advantage to land the Brentford star ahead of them. Henry assisted thrice in 49 Championship games last term, and his attacking and defensive qualities have attracted the Villans and West Ham. Smith knows the left-b...

Report: West Ham looking to raid London rivals for 25-yr-old this summer

Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri has been linked with a move away from the club and it will be interesting to see if he can secure his exit before the transfer window closes next month. According to Independent, Inter Milan are keen on signing the defender but they will face competition from Premier League side West Ham. David Moyes is looking to improve his defensive options this summer and he has identified the Italy international as a target. According to reports, West Ham are looking to sign the player on a loan deal. If Inter Milan come forward with a permanent offer it would be highly unlikely that Chelsea will sanction a loan move for the player to one of their London rivals. The Blues have signed Ben Chilwell from Leicester City and he is expected to be the club’s first-choice lef...

Report shares consortium’s seven-year biz plan as it plots Hammers takeover

According to The Sun, West Ham United have knocked back a second offer of £400 million from a US consortium to buy the club. The improved bid from the American group was made three weeks ago after the initial £350 million offer was rejected, but Hammers’ owners still aren’t keen on selling. Joint chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold value the London Stadium club far higher than what has been put on the table so far, but there is hope a settlement can be agreed in the coming weeks. As a result, a third bid is expected, but if info on CEO Karren Brady’s website is anything to go by, West Ham are currently valued around £800 million, and it remains to be seen if the owners will stick with it. The US-based group is preparing for the challenges ahead post-takeover, though, and is hoping to tu...

‘A magnificent achievement’ – David Gold sends message to Rice despite NUFC defeat

West Ham United kicked off the 2020-21 English Premier League campaign with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Newcastle United on Saturday. The Hammers were poor from start to finish, and the result would have left a bitter taste in the mouth of midfielder and academy graduate Declan Rice. The youngster was marking his 100th Premier League game for West Ham, and it wouldn’t have been the result he had hoped for to celebrate such an occasion. Hammers co-owner David Gold has ignored the result, though, choosing to mark Rice’s milestone with this message on Twitter: I would like to congratulate Declan on his 100th Premier League appearance for West Ham United – a magnificent achievement. I am very proud of him and he epitomises everything that this great football club stands for. pic.twitter.com/D...

‘Worrying signs’ – Gary Lineker tipping West Ham for relegation

West Ham United kick off their 2020-21 Premier League campaign today with a visit from Newcastle United, and the Hammers will be keen to hit the ground running. They came close to getting relegated last season, eventually surviving after finishing in 16th place and five points above the drop zone. David Moyes’ side are yet to make any additions to their squad this summer, and the departure of Grady Diangana to West Bromwich Albion on a permanent basis has angered the players and fans. BBC Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has tipped West Ham to have a shaky season, and he reckons they could struggle to hold on to their top-flight status at the end of the campaign. “As for the relegation spots, it could come from any of the rest,” Lineker told The Sun. “There’s been some worrying sign...

Report: Everton make contact regarding 23-yr-old attacker, face competition from West Ham

Everton and West Ham are thought to be keen on the Gremio winger Pepe. The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to Wolves as well and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually. The Brazilian side have just lost Everton Soares this summer and they might not be keen on selling another winger. It remains to be seen whether the Premier League trio can come forward with a convincing offer. Everton and West Ham have initiated contact with the Brazilian club regarding a potential transfer and Gremio are thought to be holding out for a fee of around €20-25m as per reports (h/t Sportwitness). Everton have signed James Rodriguez to improve their attacking unit but they need to add some pace and flair to the wide areas as well. The likes of Walcott are simply not good enough a...

Report: West Ham in touch with 24-cap Int’l, looking to bring him back to the PL

West Ham United are looking to improve their attacking options this summer and they have been in touch with the Napoli striker Fernando Llorente as per reports (h/t sportwitness). The highly experienced striker has played in England before with Swansea and Tottenham and he could prove to be a very handy option for David Moyes next season. Llorente could be a backup for Haller and he could make a big difference for the Hammers coming off the bench as a substitute. He would add experience and depth to the side. The 24-cap Spanish international will also add some tactical flexibility to the West Ham side. He is capable of holding the ball up and bringing others into play and his signing will allow West Ham to take a more direct approach if needed. Furthermore, Llorente is pretty good in the a...

Report: Everton looking to sign Napoli striker, David Moyes also keen

According to RAI journalist Ciro Venerato, West Ham United and Everton are both keen on bringing back Napoli striker Fernando Llorente to the English Premier League this summer. The former Tottenham Hotspur target man joined the Serie A giants last summer after his contract with the North London side ended, and he featured in 24 games on his return to Italy, scoring four times and assisting once. Everton have added James Rodriguez and Allan to their midfield, with Abdoulaye Doucoure also expected to be signed. Manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to boost his striking ranks and has also been linked with Valencia’s Maxi Gomez. However, the Uruguayan doesn’t have Premier League experience and could be against sitting on the bench. Despite being 35, Llorente still has what it takes to provide excell...

Report: West Ham submit £28 million bid for PL ace, ready to offer him a payrise as well

West Ham United are looking to sign James Tarkowski from Burnley this summer. According to reports, the Hammers have submitted a new offer of around £28 million for the centre back but Burnley are holding out for a fee of around £30 million. It is no secret that West Ham need to improve their defensive options and the Burnley defender could prove to be a quality addition to their back four. It will be interesting to see if the Londoners can agree on a fee with Burnley in the coming weeks now. Tarkowski could be the ideal partner for Issa Diop next season. West Ham barely managed to beat the drop last season and they cannot afford to go into the new season with a vulnerable defence once again. The 27-year-old has considerable experience of the Premier League and he should be able to se...

Report: Club believe 27y/o is worth more than £40m as Hammers plot move

According to The Sun, Burnley are demanding almost double the £27 million opening bid West Ham United have tabled for James Tarkowski. Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bolster his centre-back options after seeing his side fall apart defensively in a 5-3 loss at the hands of relegated Bournemouth on Saturday. Tarkowski has proven to be one of the best defenders in the top-flight over the years, and he has the quality it takes to significantly improve West Ham at the back. The London Stadium will have to break the bank to land the signature of the 27-year-old, though. Burnley are aware that Bournemouth got £40 million from Manchester City for the services of Dutch centre-back Nathan Ake, and they believe that Tarkowski is worth considerably more. The England international made 47 blocks, 63...
