City have won a club-record 17 successive games across all competitions and are 10 points ahead of local rivals Manchester United at the summit of the English top-flight heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures. Arteta knows City well after working under manager Pep Guardiola in Manchester for three years before returning to manage Arsenal, having previously played for the Gunners. “I think they are the best team in Europe at the moment,” Arteta said of City. “The way they are performing, the football they are playing and the consistency of the results, take all that it and it makes them the best team. “So we have a b...

But who from the Premier League is most likely to provide us with this almost unprecedented moment? Here is a ranking of every starting Premier League goalkeeper based on their goalscoring ability. 20) Sam Johnstone – West Bromwich Albion Sam Johnstone leaving his penalty box, most likely setting off an ankle tag Goalkeepers using their feet? Big Sam doesn’t like any of that tippy tappy nonsense. Get back on your line and do your job. 19) Lukasz Fabianski – West Ham United As t...

‘Could be an amazing signing’ – Some West Ham fans react after hearing Moyes wants 24-yr-old

West Ham United are thought to be keen on signing Ivan Toney at the end of the season as per Eurosport. The 24-year-old striker has made quite an impact at Brentford and he is being lined up as a replacement for Sebastien Haller. The Frenchman was sold to Ajax in January and the Hammers opted against signing a replacement last month. Toney has the physical and technical attributes to adapt to West Ham’s style of play and he could prove to be a quality addition to Moyes’s squad. The 24-year-old has scored 22 goals in 27 Championship appearances so far this season. He was brought in as a replacement for the current Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins. The Hammers have been recently linked with the Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri as well. It will be interesting to see who they end up sig...

‘Immense’, ‘Incredible’ – Some West Ham fans are in awe of 30-yr-old’s display v Man Utd

West Ham United slipped to a narrow defeat against Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup last night. The Londoners will be disappointed to have crashed out of the competition after performing reasonably well against the Premier League giants. Moyes has had a small squad to work with this season and was lacking attacking options against United. However, the Hammers managed to contain the home side for the majority of the game. The Hammers were impressive at the back and 30-year-old Craig Dawson put in a splendid display for the away side. The experienced centre back has proven to be a superb addition to the West Ham defence and he was one of the best players on the pitch last night. He joined the London club on a loan deal at the start of the season and he has proven to be a ma...

Opinion: Moyes’ update on West Ham ace shows he might have made a transfer mistake

West Ham United manager David Moyes has revealed that Michail Antonio is currently fatigued and he might not feature against Manchester United in their FA Cup clash later today. The 30-year-old has been leading the line for the London club ever since Sebastien Haller left for Ajax. The Hammers were linked with several strikers last month but they chose not to sign a proper number nine. Moyes has revealed that he had the option of spending big on a replacement for Haller but decided against it. Moyes said to the club’s official website: “He’s still fatigued so it will be a close call whether he makes it or not. We’ll need to assess him tomorrow to see if he is able to play. “It has been well documented that we don’t have a lot of other options. “We’re well aware of that and we cho...

Report shares what PGMOL told Mike Dean after sending Soucek off

According to The Sun, referee Mike Dean has been told by his bosses at Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) that he was wrong to send West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek off in Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Fulham. The Czech Republic international was dismissed in the closing stages of the game for an elbow on Aleksandar Mitrovic, but it was clearly unintentional. However, VAR and Dean believed otherwise and everyone, including the Fulham striker, was left surprised by the decision. The red card would have seen the West Ham midfielder miss Tuesday’s FA Cup fifth round clash against Manchester United and the league games against Sheffield United and Tottenham Hotspur, but the three-match ban is expected to be lifted as the Hammers are set to win their appeal. Soucek has been ...
