Gary Lineker shares his reaction to 28-yr-old West Ham star’s performance

West Ham United attacker Jesse Lingard continued his impressive start to life at the London club with another vital goal last night. The Hammers secured a thrilling win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, with Lingard bagging a superb opening goal. The 28-year-old has now scored six goals and produced three assists since joining West Ham during the January transfer window. Lingard’s quality and determination has made a big difference to West Ham’s attack to put the club in with a great chance of securing European qualification for the next season. Popular Premier League pundit Gary Lineker has reacted to Lingard’s display against Wolves on Twitter. Goodness me @JesseLingard is on fire. 💥 — Gary Lineker 💙 (@GaryLineker) April 5, 2021 Lingard was starved of game time at Old Tr...

‘We would consider them’ – Moyes reacts to potential transfer offers for West Ham duo

West Ham United manager David Moyes has admitted that the Hammers would have to consider any bids for key players like Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek at the end of the season. The West Ham boss said (via Mirror): “Yes, any club can make offers for players, but we’ve not had any big offers. I hope we don’t get any but if we do, like any other club, we would consider them. “I don’t know where the Bank of England is for Tomas Soucek, but I’ve said with Declan, it would take the Bank of England and the Royal Bank of Scotland to get him. It will have to be the Bank of Czech as well for Tomas!” Both players have been excellent for the Hammers in the Premier League, and their form has attracted plenty of admiring glances from elsewhere. Rice has been linked with a move away from West Ham ...

Everton blow late lead against Crystal Palace

Everton’s hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League were dented by Michy Batshuayi’s 86th minute equaliser to salvage a 1-1 draw for Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on Monday. The Toffees were made to rue a string of missed chances either side of James Rodriguez’s opener as they only narrowly closed the gap on fourth-placed Chelsea to four points. Rodriguez’s return from injury for the first time since Everton ended a two-decade wait to beat Liverpool away in the Merseyside derby in February sparked a far more enterprising performance from Carlo Ancelotti’s men. Vicente Guaita was forced into fine saves from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in a dominant first-half display from the home side. Rodriguez finally broke the deadlock 11 minutes into the second-half when he fired hom...

‘West Ham would love him!’ Moyes urged to make summer move for 23-year-old

Former Republic of Ireland forward David Connolly has urged West Ham United to sign Tammy Abraham this summer. The striker was surprisingly left out of the Blues’ matchday squad for their dismal 5-2 defeat against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. Abraham has started just three Premier League games since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager, and it appears that the German doesn’t rate him. The 23-year-old is contracted to the club until 2023, but Connolly believes that a move across London would be in his best interests. “West Ham would love him!” Connolly told talkSPORT. “They need another striker. They’re very reliant on Michail Antonio, but I can’t see Chelsea selling Tammy Abraham. “Whether Tuchel wants a response – some managers might just want a response. Maybe he needs to do a bit mor...

Manchester City close in on Premier League title with Leicester win

Manchester City took another significant step towards the Premier League title with a 2-0 victory at Leicester City. The visitors dominated from the off and thought they were ahead on five minutes. Fernandinho rifled a 35-yard strike into the bottom corner, but Sergio Aguero – who was appearing for the first time since his impending summer departure from City was announced – was deemed to be offside. Kevin de Bruyne then hit the crossbar with a stunning free kick before Leicester’s best moment saw Jamie Vardy’s strike ruled out for offside on the stroke of half time. The pattern of Man City dominance continued after the break and they deservedly took the lead on 58 minutes when Benjamin Mendy showed great composure to cut inside and place a low shot into the far corner. Gabriel Jesus made ...

Maverick 28-year-old could take West Ham or Everton to the next level

The news that Paris Saint-Germain could offload Mauro Icardi this summer is potentially an interesting development for selected Premier League clubs. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Press Reader), the Ligue 1 giants need to free up some finances to facilitate contract extensions for Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Icardi is thought to favour a move to Juventus, although their desire to re-sign Moise Kean this summer could scupper his hopes. Roma has also been suggested as a possible destination, but they may struggle to afford Icardi’s lofty price tag and salary in the current economic climate. SL View Icardi built up a reputation as a clinical finisher during his time with Inter Milan, bagging 124 goals in 219 goals for the club in all competitions. The Argentine subsequently joined P...

West Ham United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Monday and they will be hoping to get into the top four with a win. The Hammers are currently 5th in the Premier League table just two points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea. Leicester boss declares Manchester City as champions-elect

Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers, has declared Manchester City as champions-elect. Leicester beat Manchester City 5-2 back in September, but City have since built a 14-point cushion at the top of the table and Rodgers is sure his side will be playing the champions this weekend. “I don’t think there’s any doubt they will go on and win the league,” he said. “We, of course, want to make it as difficult as possible but their level of consistency over a long period this season sees them out in front and if they go on and win it, they’ll be very deserving. “But all the teams they have to play want to make sure they have to fight for it and they have to earn it.” Leicester sit third, 15 points adrift of City but more importantly seven better off than fifth-placed West Ham in the battle for Ch...

‘Simply outstanding’, ‘He’s world class’ – Some West Ham fans hail 22-yr-old’s England display

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice put on a splendid performance for his country against Poland in the World Cup qualifiers last night. The 22-year-old was chosen as the man of the match. The defensive midfielder put on a disciplined performance for Gareth Southgate’s side against Poland and he helped England dominate the contest from the centre of the park. The West Ham ace protected the England back four and helped break up the opposition play time and again last night. Rice has been quite impressive for David Moyes’s side so far this season and he seems to have carried that form into the international break as well. The 22-year-old has had a fruitful international break with England and his performances over the last few weeks could help him cement his place in the starting lineup f...
