After so many weddings and celebrations were delayed or altered over the last few years thanks to the pandemic, things are hopefully looking up for 2022. Normal wedding programming has resumed and we can finally get back to celebrating our friends and family in style— which is great news, especially if you’re one of the couples planning your big day. If you’re anything like most of us on the Who What Wear team, the delays have also meant our 2022 calendars are already looking pretty packed; thanks to the backlog of postponements as well as all the new engagements that have happened since. The fun times will, of course, be worth it, but the stress of planning so many different outfits for all the occasions is real. So we thought we’d help the best way we know how— by getting ahea...
Facebook WhatsApp Reddit Twitter Shares Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, governor of Delta State took to his Facebook page this morning to share throwback Picture of when he got married 35 years ago. The governor said My darling Edith, 35-years ago, before God and our family and friends, I said: “I do” to you. 35-years later, every morning when I wake up, I thank our Almighty God for the best and most significant decision that I have ever made. .u29abe16f85156a17ac2ab592ce46c3f3 { padding:0px; margin: 0; padding-top:1em!important; padding-bottom:1em!important; width:100%; display: block; font-weight:bold; background-color:inherit; border:0!important; border-left:4px solid #16A085!important; box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -moz-box-shadow: 0 1px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.17); -o-box-shadow: 0 1px 2p...
I know from my own experience that planning a wedding can take months. You spend endless hours deciding what your guests are going to eat, what booze they’re going to drink and even which napkins they’ll wipe their mouths on. While this is all important stuff, it doesn’t really compare to deciding on which outfit you’re going to wear. Of course, 2021 (and 2020) had different plans for those who had their weddings coming up, and plenty of nuptials had to be cancelled as a result of the pandemic. But there’s one silver lining I hope I can provide for you. If you’re planning on getting married at some point, then you have more time to decide what you’re going to wear. And if budgets are smaller than you had prev...
Congratulations are in order for one of the OG French influencers Camille Charrière. She just married François Larpin in Paris, and the event was as stylish as you’d expect. The bride wore a Celine couture wedding dress for the ceremony, featuring a sheer skirt and sleeves along with shiny sequin details. She finished the look with white pointy-toe pumps and delicate snowflakes pinned to her hair. How romantic is that? Charrière’s reception look, however, seemed to steal the show, as it was completely sheer and exposed her white thong underneath. The ethereal lace number featured ultra-thin straps and a mini train, contrasting her ankle-length wedding dress from earlier in the day. Scroll down to see Camille Charrière’s wedding photos. When it comes to wedding guest dressing, there’s little room for throwing an opportunistic look together. As soon as that invite drops on the doormat/in your inbox, you’ll spend more time questioning what to wear, how you’ll stay dry and what bag will be most useful than how you’ll travel there or what to gift the happy couple with. But the biggest conundrum is definitely choosing a pair of shoes. If you’ve got a slew of weddings stretching throughout the year, you’ll happily recoup lots of cost per wear out of a sensible but not-too-safe style in nude or metallic, preferably with a heel height that’ll leave your sense of humour intact after 12 hours on your feet. If you want to ensure that nothing will hinder you being first on...
So you’ve received a wedding invitation, and you know this is your chance to dress up—or at the very least, wear something other than your leggings or joggers. The big question is what? With the types of weddings you can attend becoming increasingly diverse, so is the scope of your outfit. Many couples are now opting for smaller, more intimate celebrations, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give your wedding guest outfit any less consideration than you would if the guest list were in the triple figures. On the flip side, with restrictions hopefully remaining lifted, others see it as an opportunity to plan full-blown black-tie events oozing glamour and to wear something exceptional. Whatever the aesthetic, venue or location of the soirée, we’ve found s...
Wedding season might traditionally fall in the summer months, however after years of rescheduled nuptials and diaries filling for next year, wedding guest outfit planning is now pretty much a year-round activity. If you’re on the hunt for some amazing wedding-ready looks, let us narrow things down a little bit for you by sharing the brands that always deliver when it comes to beautiful, but comfortable, occasionwear. Our list includes some labels which you’re likely to spot at any British wedding, such as Rixo and Self Portrait. But we’ve also added some lesser-known names into the mix if you’re hoping to discover something new. This includes Own Studio, which despite technically catering to brides and bridesmaids, creates beautiful silk separates in plenty of elegant colours that you...
You might think that looking ahead to next year’s wedding-dress trends is crazy, but let me assure you: it isn’t. You see, while we tend to divide the year into two “normal” fashion seasons and predict what’s coming six months ahead, wedding dresses are more complicated. Why? Since weddings tend to happen months or years after a couple’s engagement, planning ahead is key. And while you definitely don’t have to follow trends on your big day, the upcoming trends might give you some inspiration. The pandemic has changed bridal trends in ways we couldn’t have foreseen. Plenty of brides have opted for more pared-back looks to match more low-key weddings. Suits and simple shift dresses have been spotted on plenty of brides. On the flip si...
Am I weird to be happy about September being around the corner? Sure, the cooler days and shorter nights are coming but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. For starters, summer wasn’t the *best* this year, was it? So I don’t know about you but I’m pretty happy to start embracing the knitwear-friendly weather, quite honestly and forget about the past few weeks. But before the truly cold temperatures kick in there’s still a good amount of wedding season we need to consider, and everyone knows that September weddings are the most fun. Less sweating over your Prosecco and more options for outerwear, I’d say this month is ideal to attend various nuptials. As usual, our attentions are drawn to the major question of what to wear to a September ...
