EDM.com proudly publishes four installments of annual year-end coverage: Industry Leaders, Performances, Music Producers and Songs. DJing and music production are different. But the difference between the two is like a wallflower—it hides in plain sight, and it’s vastly misunderstood. Publishing a “Top DJ” list would undermine the originality, ingenuity and dauntless imagination of the artists who dedicate their lives to music production. To honor their fearless creativity and profound dedication to their craft, we’ve recognized 10 of the best electronic music producers of 2022. Hardwell Hardwell. c/o Hardwell Hardwell’s long-awaited return from a multi-year hiatus was anything but conventional. Rather than stay the course and fan the fumes of big room house n...

SVDDEN DEATH‘s debut album is the perfect companion for Elden Ring binging. Broken into five unique acts, VOYD II is the quintessential SVDDEN DEATH project. Combining experimental, heavy sounds with his signature dark fantasy aesthetic, his debut LP takes listeners deeper into a world of medieval horror with every track. As listeners turn the first page of the metaphorical book of VOYD, they are met with an ominous rumbling. Some say the sounds are reminiscent of fire and brimstone while others hear the stomping footsteps of a gargantuan beast. All that’s known for sure is that listeners will be subjected to their own worst nightmare, filtering out those not willing to face their fears. A treat to longtime fans of SVDDEN DEATH, the opening act features three tracks w...

With help from Space Laces, Oolacile, Aweminus, Phiso, Neonix, and Syzy, the show, dubbed “The Valley of Darkness,” exceeded fans’ expectations and then some. The show came just days after his massive single “Transmutation Sequence” hit the airwaves. Putting the evil in medieval, the official release of the highly anticipated track was yet another peak performance from one of bass music’s most excit...

This year, the team at EDM.com is proud to publish four installments of “Best of 2020” coverage: Industry Leaders, Performances, Music Producers, and Songs. With no venues to perform at in 2020, it seemed at times as if artists simply blindfolded their eyes, threw a dart at a map, and travelled to places to perform—locations that are usually pipe dreams. However, due to the dogged fury of COVID-19 and the surge of streaming, these pie-in-the-sky destinations became the new norm for DJs who wanted to connect with fans in the absence of tours. To honor their creativity and seminal influences on the live music industry, we’ve recognized ten of the year’s best performances in dance music. RÜFÜS DU SOL Live from Joshua Tree Filmed in late 2019 and released in ...

The tale of unholy corruption was filmed in the woods near Seattle, Washington by filmmakers Schaffer Brady and Holly Singh (aka Zeuzse). With the title “Confusion Spell” alongside footage of witchcraft and sword fighting, his emphasis on fantasy elements in b...
