Hardcore Supergroup OFF! Announce Vinyl Reissues, Plot New Album

Hardcore supergroup OFF! have announced a series of vinyl reissues ahead of their forthcoming full-length album. The Keith Morris-fronted band recently signed to Fat Possum Records, which is reissuing the First Four EPs compilation (available for the first time ever on LP format), along with the band’s two full-length efforts: 2012’s OFF! and 2014’s Wasted Years. The deluxe colored vinyl pressings arrive in late July and can be pre-ordered now via the label’s website. The summer blockbuster is back and it’s headed for your record player. The alt-rock icon’s fifth album was originally released just over 20 years ago in October 2000, and the following year it racked up two Grammy nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Female Rock Performance. The 12-song affair was both a commercial and critical success for Harvey, who was then eight years into her solo career, and it remains an essential part of her discography to this day. Danny Elfman’s Edward Scissorhands Score Gets 30th Anniversary Deluxe Reissue

Tim Burton’s unintentional Christmas classic Edward Scissorhands came out 30 years ago, almost to the day. To celebrate its anniversary as of one the most charmingly bizarre films out there, Waxwork Records is putting out a special deluxe reissue of the beloved score Danny Elfman wrote for the movie. The 30th anniversary deluxe reissue includes all of Elfman’s fairytale-like compositions, including the gorgeous snow scene music and that iconic suburbia suite that makes it one of Burton’s all-time bests. PJ Harvey has announced a vinyl reissue for her 1998 album Is This Desire?, the latest release as part of her year-long archival campaign. To accompany today’s news, she’s unearthed a previously unreleased music video for the album’s opening track, “Angelene”, as well as a demo version of the same song. So far this year, Harvey has reissued 1992 Dry, 1993’s Rid of Me, 1995’s To Bring You My Love, and 1996’s Dance Hall at Louise Point. As with these other release, Is This Desire? will come paired with a companion demo album. The iconic British comic strip character Rupert Bear is celebrating his 100th birthday this year, and one of his most famous fans, Paul McCartney, is marking the occasion in a big way. On November 6th, The Beatles rocker will reissue Rupert and The Frog Song, a 1984 short film he dedicated to the yellow-scarfed little bear, as well as its original song “We All Stand Together”. Written and produced by McCartney, alongside director Geoff Dunbar, Rupert and The Frog Song follows Rupert as he embarks on a merry walk throughout the hills. Elliott Smith’s sophomore self-titled album turned 25 years old last month, and Kill Rock Stars is celebrating the anniversary by releasing a new deluxe reissue of the LP. This deluxe edition features a fresh remaster of all of the album’s tracks, thanks to the official Smith family archivist Larry Crane pulling the from reels, cassettes, files, and DAT tapes to get recordings as close to the original Elliott Smith mix as possible. John Coltrane’s landmark 1965 album A Love Supreme is set to be reissued on vinyl this October as part of Verve/UMe’s ongoing Acoustic Sounds audiophile series. The four-part spiritual suite has been remastered from its original analog tapes, pressed on 180-gram vinyl, and packaged by Stoughton Printing Co. in high-quality tip-on gatefold jackets. As part of an extensive archival campaign, PJ Harvey is reissuing her entire discography on vinyl. Notably, these re-releases are also being paired with demos culled from the original album sessions.
