The United Kingdom and Netherlands total nearly 40% of the artists represented. 33 artists made their first appearance and eight have re-entered. His continued success over the years paved the way for his close friend and collaborator MORTEN to rise through the rankings to #20. Recommended Articles In addit...
Do your thoughts at night keep you awake? Delivering a new single called “Last Thought,” Sonny Fodera has enlisted Brazilian superstar producer Vintage Culture and Canadian songstress MKLA to drop a hypnotic house thumper for the lovesick. “Last Thought” marks the third track from Fodera’s upcoming Wide Awake album. The first glimpse into what’s to come from the 14-track collection was gifted back in July with the assertive single “Nah.” At that time, there was no indication of an album in the works. Just last month Fodera announced the tracklist and release date of Wide Awake, accompanied by the album’s second single “Angel.” Reconnecting with Vintage Culture, the est...
As RÜFÜS DU SOL continue to chart the course of their hotly anticipated fourth album, they’ve now unveiled a pair of official remixes of one of its expected singles, “Next to Me.” The two-track EP kicks off with a scintillating rendition from Vintage Culture, whose warm melodic house twist will resonate with longtime fans of the group. The Brazilian house music producer, who has taken the EDM community by storm over the course of the past year, called the opportunity to remix a RÜFÜS DU SOL track “a dream coming true” in a statement. Adana Twins take a different route in their forceful rework, which slithers into focus with jungle-inspired drum programming and faint vocal chants. The German techno vets go on to drop a hauntin...

Genre-defying duo SOFI TUKKER have returned with yet another surefire hit. The SOFI TUKKER tandem have released a slew of sensational, celebrated singles over the years, integrating underlying messages of inclusivity, liberation, and unity, among other motifs. Their latest single, “Sun Came Up” with breakout Chicago house music artist John Summit, follows suit. Arriving by way of Ultra Records, the hypnotic house track begins with soft, sensual lyricism courtesy of Sophie Hawley-Weld of SOFI TUKKER. There’s a reason why EDM is so popular in Brazil—the country is currently pumping out electronic music producers like a broken printer. Those artists have ignited the country’s music scene in recent years by cultivating Brazilian bass, a musical sub-genre that started out as a mere classification but has since mutated into a full-fledged culture. The ascension of this type of music is no fluke. Led by its unquestioned pacemaker, Alok, the Brazilian bass sound has exploded in its namesake nation and continues to gain steam in the states. And, like a smokestack, it’s only a matter of time until the genre truly explodes and billows out through the contemporary music scene at large. It’s already happening. A closely related electronic sub-genre called “slap ...
The remix train for the iconic “Show Me Love” by Laidback Luke, Steve Angello, and Robin S. came to an epic conclusion today. The party kicked off earlier this year, when Mixmash Records and EDM.com joined forces to host a massive remix contest where fans could submit their own versions of the beloved track. The winners were chosen this morning, with Mike Prob snagging the top spot. “Show Me Love” also received the VIP treatment with four new remixes from elite producers. First to flex their production muscles were Jauz and Dubdogz. Now, the Brazilian powerhouse Vintage Culture and mysterious UK duo Wh0 have taken on the challenging feat, and smashed their renditions with flying colors. Both have delivered a unique reinterpretation of the t...

Its allure has been captured on such classics as “Hotel California” and “California Love,” and now “Cali Dreams” by Vintage Culture and Fancy Inc. The Brazilian powerhouses—longtime collaborators—have joined forces to express their admiration through this new feel-good dance record with vocals courtesy of The Beach. “Cali Dreams” showcases both artists’ upbeat stylings with heart-pumping synths and a strong bassline. The song evokes the endless possibilities that inspire many people to venture to out west. It’s one of those tunes you will want to throw on as you’re driving down the coast, pretending you are the main character in a movie as...
