Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede, has assured residents of the border communities in Akokoland of adequate protection against kidnappers, if elected governor. Jegede gave the assurance while on a campaign visit to Ikakumo, in Akoko North-East local council area of the state. Recall that majority of the abduction cases in the state took place along Owo/Ose/Akoko highway. Governor Obaseki: Edo election will put final end to godfatherism
Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo on Thursday said that the Sept. 19 governorship election would put a final end to godfatherism in the state. Obaseki, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said this during his ward to ward campaign tour across the 10 wards in Esan North East Local Government Area. He said that the election was very vital for, not just the state, but the country at large, as the decision had to be made whether or not the state should move forward. Police Shut Down Vigil For Mass Appeal & Street Dreams Artist Kiing Shooter In Queensbridge
Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty Kiing Shooter, a rapper signed to both Nas‘ Mass Appeal Records and his brother Jungle‘s Street Dreams imprint, reportedly died from complications arising from COVID-19. Reports are coming forth that police shut down a vigil in the rapper’s Queensbridge neighborhood, shutting down the event in the process. The New York Post reports that the vigil for Shooter held this past Tuesday in Queensbridge Park was visited by local police, with the outlet saying around 50 people were in attendance at the event. Late last month, Shooter posted an image of him inside a hospital getting treatment for an undisclosed illness but it’s being reported that he possibly contracted COVID-19 while hospitalized.
