Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Shares Hundreds of Footage from Previous Induction Ceremonies
With the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony has been moved to later this year, the organization is continuing to entertain music fans everywhere by opening the vault and sharing hundreds of videos from previous ceremonies. The new (old) footage has started to appear on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s YouTube channel over the last few weeks. It started with 2019’s clips but then started to include performances and acceptance speeches from Neil Young, Stevie Nicks, U2, Mick Jagger, The Pretenders, Roxy Music and The Stooges, which you can watch below. Following the release of her debut single “Rise” a few weeks ago, The Kills singer Alison Mosshart has shared “It Ain’t Water.” The new song is a slow burner with a video that sets the mood. Mosshart dances around herself in the foreground while a closeup of the rock artist is superimposed on the clip singing the track. Weezer’s big appearance on The Simpsons premiered last night (May 10), and it featured a full re-working of the iconic theme song for the animated series. During the end credits of the episode, entitled “The Hateful Eight-Year-Olds,” Weezer are seen performing Danny Elfman’s theme music but with more electric guitars and heavy drum action. It also gave viewers a sense of nostalgia for what it felt like to be at a concert again with the animated crowds cheering them on. Tool had been rolling along on the road — until the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Once that tour got postponed, singer Maynard James Keenan instead (in all likelihood) figured it was a good time to roll out a new Puscifer song.
