The Kaduna state police command has confirmed the abduction of the emir of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu. In a statement on Sunday, spokesman of the command, Mohammad Jalige, said the emir was abducted alongside 10 members of his family. However, a resident of the community said the emir, five members of his family and nine others within the community were abducted. Some suspected gunmen have kidnapped four farmers in a farm located in Ekiti, demanding N50 million ransom to secure their release. The Police Command in the state on Tuesday confirmed the kidnapping of the four farmers but denied knowledge of the N50 million ransom. Tragedy struck on Monday in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State as one person was feared dead while two others were seriously injured in a gas explosion. Newsmen gathered that the incident happened around 8am along Folagbade Road in Ijebu-Ode. The explosion involved a tricycle, three motorcycles and a Honda SUV. According to an eyewitness, the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder belonging to one of the passengers of the tricycle. The eyewitness explained that the rider of the tricycle that was conveying three occupants parked by the roadside when the owner of the cylinder discovered that the gas was leaking from the cylinder. Gunmen have kidnapped six workers of a ceramic company located at Itobe, Kogi. The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in the State, DSP William Aya, told newsmen on Wednesday that the workers were kidnapped on June 29. Aya said that the workers were working at one of the mining sites of the company located at Emiworo community in Ajaokuta Local Government Area when they were abducted. Aya, however, explained that the police were only informed about the incident on Wednesday morning. Three suspected armed robbers on Saturday were involved a ghastly motor accident at Ode-Remo, Ogun State, while escaping with a car they allegedly snatched at gunpoint. Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Ogun police spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday. A major rescue operation is ongoing for the kidnapped students and teachers of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State. Over 100 people, the majority of them girls, and five teachers, were kidnapped last week after bandits stormed the school. Top security sources told newsmen that some of the students had been rescued by troops. The remaining abducted students, the source said, had been split into five groups by the bandits, who had now been surrounded by troops. Six people have been killed in multiple crashes that occurred on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 4.05pm involving a vehicle belonging to Zamfara State Government and two other vehicles.
